Department Growth

We're excited to announce that three new paid firefighters joined Salado Fire | Bell County ESD #1 during the month of June.

With these additions, we are now staffed with three paid firefighters on duty every shift, improving our ability to respond quickly while continuing to work alongside our dedicated volunteer firefighters.

This milestone represents another step forward in our commitment to providing exceptional emergency services while maintaining the strong volunteer tradition that has served our community for decades.

Summer Fire Safety

Summer heat, dry vegetation, and windy conditions can quickly turn a small spark into a fast-moving grass fire.

You can help reduce the risk by:

  • Keeping trailers properly maintained and ensuring safety chains don't drag.

  • Avoiding parking vehicles on tall, dry grass.

  • Cleaning grass and debris from mowers, tractors, and outdoor equipment.

  • Never burning trash or brush during dry or windy conditions.

  • Properly disposing of smoking materials.

  • Reporting fires immediately by calling 911.

Before conducting any outdoor burning, always check current burn restrictions by visiting bellcountyesd1.org.
